Dungeons and Dragons Tactical Map Reincarnated pack
So I bought this pack of maps and was frustrated by the lack of information or previews as to what the actual maps look like. But I am super happy with the variety of maps included in this pack: So here are some small previews so that any one who was on the fence about purchasing this pack and wanted to have a looksee.

Dungeon Walls
So a while ago I got some resin cast dungeon walls from this Etsy Seller. There's 75 pieces of different sized walls to be able to build a decent sized dungeon. The walls come in grey which is great to get playing with straight away, but I wanted to paint mine. I got Uniform Grey primer spray, changes the grey colour slightly so again it could be battlefield ready after this. Next I got some different shades of grey from my D&D paints (that are just re branded army painter colours) and randomly painted a few of the stones:
Left is primed, right is painted.
After the paint was dry a quick wash with Dark tone army painter wash. Then a dry brush with a mix of White and Dungeon stone (I think). Looks good now, but I still want to add more detail.
Some Army painter battlefields Summer undergrowth and static grass tufts from Peco Scene to give the wall a more realistic underground look. Buuuuuuut I didn't stop there, I remembered that I had some Uv curing resin and dripped some on the wall to make it look soggy, like a wall full of damp and undergrowth would look like. Anyway I think the wall looks good and I will be making a few more like it so when the adventurers go through the dungeon there's some consistency to the decoration.
Also thinking about some bloodied walls, walls with magic symbols carved in them with maybe some glow in the dark paint to react under black lights......

Grey versus Black 3d models
So these Dwarves are my brothers models, he first got the more expensive plastic from Hero forge for his Dwarven druid (Left) and then went with the cheaper plastic for his Dwarven cleric (right). Anyway I thought this was a good opportunity to photograph them both together so other people can see the difference in the two plastics. The black definitely holds more detail but I suspect it will be difficult to paint as the plastic is 'shiny' and I know for a fact the grey plastic is easy to paint on as I have already painted my grey model.

Bugbears
A few bugbears that I've been working on, about half way painted at the moment, just been blocking in colours and did a quick wash and realized all the bits I missed lol.
Couldn't resist this Owlbear pin from Mythicalstudios

Owlbear
So I got this Owlbear model free with from a Dungeons and Dragons paint set:
Lovely yummy paints, I needed some more paints as the warhammer citadel paints that I got a few years ago when painting my Eldar army have started to dry up.
Primed
Painted.
Need to sort out the base and retouch up a few areas I've missed but I am pretty happy with it so far.

A new project
So this blog has been untouched for 2 years, well we haven't played warhammer for that long as well. BUT just recently we have started a Dungeons and Dragons campaign (5 of us plus the DM), and with that we have got some custom models made for our characters. So the next blog posts in this blog will be D&D related.
My character is a level 3 Wizard and so far has been knocked unconscious once yay! there's a website called Hero forge that allows you to fully customize your character and 3D print it in a variety of materials! so here is Rene:

I chose the cheapest printing option ($19.99) as the write up said that the new grey 3D printed models were better for painting, and after seeing my brothers $29.99 black printed model I wanted it to be easy to paint (I haven't tried painting on the black plastic yet but by looking at it I can tell the paint is going repel on it). Also his model the 3D printing lines are more obvious, whereas this grey plastic I can only see a few tiny lines. Yes the detail is not that great, a lot of the edges are 'softer' but I want an easier time painting :p
